This week, students will participate in lessons about the importance of making healthy choices and staying drug-free.

We also have dress-up days, mini lessons (see below) and pledges for both parents and students about making healthy choices (we will display those that are returned to us this week):

  • Discussion - What does it mean to be healthy and make safe choices and follow your dreams?
  • October 28 – Dress like a Teacher: "Be a leader, be drug-free!"
  • Discussion - How can friends and classmates help each other make good choices?
  • October 29 – Hat/Sports Day: "Put a cap on drugs & score a drug-free life!"
  • Discussion - How does making safe choices show respect for yourself and others?
  • October 30 – Wear Red Day: "Wear red, take a stand – be drug-free!"

  • Recap of the week - Recap the week and share what students learned.

Save the Date - Veteran's Day Assembly - November 11

Dear Families,
I know I initially extended the offer to every family, but space is limited for our Veterans Day Assembly on November 11 @ 9:15, and we want to be sure to honor our family Veterans first. Filling out this form will give our Veterans a priority spot at the assembly and allow us the opportunity to honor them in our slideshow presentation for our students. It will be complete with music and the information that you provide in the link below.

We also want to welcome any available Veterans to attend and encourage them to wear their military garb if they would like to. The slideshow will be shared with families after the assembly.

Thank you for helping us celebrate and honor our Veterans!

Fit for Fun

Fit for Fun activity logs went home in early October! This is a great way for your child to stay active and earn an unlimited 4-hour pass to Wahooz.
  • Directions: On the back of the activity log.
  • Due date: December 12
  • Tickets: Will be distributed in January once provided by Wahooz
If your child needs another log or you have questions, please contact Mr. Hoehne via ParentSquare or at Dhoehne@kunaschools.org

Have fun staying active!

The PAC Pulse - All Things Parent Advisory Committee

Our Parent Advisory Committee has officially been established! Thank you to the parents who are serving on this team and giving their time to help strengthen the home to school connection at Silver Trail.

At our first meeting, we reviewed our communication protocols and discussed upcoming events, including the Veterans Day Assembly, Parking Lots and Red Ribbon Week. We’re grateful for the thoughtful input and collaboration of our PAC members as we work together to support our students and school community.

You’ll find this PAC Pulse section in the newsletter each month with highlights from our discussions and topics.

"Stay on the TRAIL"

At Silver Trail Elementary, we have schoolwide rules that apply everywhere students go—classroom, bathroom, hallway, cafeteria, playground, bus, and beyond. These expectations help create a safe, respectful, and positive learning environment for everyone.

We remind students to "Stay on the TRAIL" every day during announcements, using our TRAIL expectations:
  • T – Team Player
  • R – Respectful
  • A – Accountable
  • I – Integrity
  • L – Leadership
By following TRAIL expectations, our students are set up for success no matter where they are in our school community and earn TRAIL tickets for the school store when they get caught following the TRAIL.
