Dear Miner Families,

This week we had a wonderful time celebrating Read Across America Week at school! Students enjoyed participating in fun dress-up days and one of our favorite activities—flashlight reading. There will be pictures on our Facebook page for you to see. We turned off as many lights as possible throughout the building, and students used flashlights to read for 30 minutes, making reading the primary focus, paired with an extremely fun reading experience.

We also had several “Secret Readers” visit classrooms to share stories and help reinforce the importance and joy of reading. It was a great week filled with enthusiasm for books and learning!

Trimester 2 report cards should be in your child(ren)'s communication folder. Please sign the envelope acknowledging that you received the report card and send the empty envelope back to the teacher.

Only one more week to go before everyone gets a well deserved spring break!

Warm Regards,
Principal Harding

Report Cards | End of Trimester 2

Report cards will be sent home on Friday, March 6. Please check for the report card envelope (this should be the same envelope used for Trimester 1 unless a replacement was needed), sign it, and return the envelope to your child’s teacher as soon as possible.

Thank you for helping us keep these materials organized!

Annual Lego League Expo | Aprill 11 @ KMS

We are excited to announce that on April 11, we will host our annual Lego League Expo at Kuna Middle School from 9:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. This is a fantastic opportunity to celebrate the hard work and creativity of our elementary students.

We are currently looking for community volunteers to help us bring this event to life and show our students that their community is invested in their success. Your support makes a meaningful difference, and we truly appreciate everything you do for the students in Kuna.

If you are interested in volunteering or have any questions, please contact Chris Dixon at cmdixon@kunaschools.org or reach out to your local elementary school.

Thank you again for your continued support—we look forward to working together to make this year’s Expo a wonderful experience for our students!

Parents and guardians of students entering Kindergarten in Fall 2026–2027 are invited to join us for an informational evening hosted by Kuna School District. This session will include a Q&A and helpful information covering everything you need to know to prepare your incoming Kindergartener for a successful start to school.

We look forward to welcoming our newest families and supporting you as you begin this exciting journey!

Parking Lot

This is a friendly reminder to avoid parking along the west curb painted in red. Doing this helps maintain safe and efficient traffic flow in our parking lot.

Also, please remember that in order to help us all clear out the parking lot efficiently, we are having families exit the parent pick up parking lot by turning right (only) or crossing Mason Creek into the subdivision.

Thank you!

"Stay on the TRAIL"

At Silver Trail Elementary, we have schoolwide rules that apply everywhere students go—classroom, bathroom, hallway, cafeteria, playground, bus, and beyond. These expectations help create a safe, respectful, and positive learning environment for everyone.

We remind students to "Stay on the TRAIL" every day during announcements, using our TRAIL expectations:
  • T – Team Player
  • R – Respectful
  • A – Accountable
  • I – Integrity
  • L – Leadership
By following TRAIL expectations, our students are set up for success no matter where they are in our school community and earn TRAIL tickets for the school store when they get caught following the TRAIL.
