The Silver Trail Guide

So You Don't Get Lost!

August 17, 2026
Silver Trail Elementary School

Hi Miner Families!

We have had a wonderful first couple of days with your kiddos! Thank you for the opportunity to work with them. Every classroom already has a warm feeling and positive momentum as we build classroom culture as a community each day. All of our staff are excited about the opportunities to build relationships and get to learning. I am especially proud of our new to STE and Kindergarten students who have quickly learned what it means to be a student at Silver Trail Elementary.

Parents, thank you for the time and effort that you have put into preparing students for this week. Their smiles and hard work has helped create a positive and welcoming first couple of days of school.

Bus Parents, we appreciate how quickly you have adjusted to our new district wide system: BusRight. We have enjoyed how this system provides communication for the whereabouts of our Miners who ride a bus.

I also want to thank parents for the positive momentum we have had with our drop off and pick up lines. Although they can be long, we appreciate your patience as we learn (and in most cases) relearn our procedures together.

Each week you will receive a newsletter from me. The goal is to keep you aware of everything taking place at STE. Beginning next week, please ask your child what it means to "Stay on the TRAIL" which are our school wide rules. They apply in classrooms, on the bus, in the bathroom, and anywhere your child goes with STE.

Have a wonderful weekend!

Sincerely,
Principal Harding

Starting Monday (8/17)

Parents and guardians will no longer be allowed past the main entrance gates onto campus for drop-off, pick up or during school hours.
  • Drop-Off Spot: Please say your goodbyes and drop off your students at the front gates/sidewalks. Staff members will be outside to assist students in getting to their classroom lines safely.
  • Be Patient: As everyone adjusts to this routine, please give yourself extra time and drive carefully.
  • Crosswalk Safety: If you park and walk your child toward the gates, please use the designated crosswalks at all times.
Thank you for your cooperation and partnership in keeping our campus safe and secure for all students!

School Pride

Since the start of summer, we have been painting all of our hallways and many of our classrooms. Many staff have given up parts of their summer to support this effort. We want to thank them for making sure our school stays in top shape for our students.

This is no small task and we specifically want to thank Mr. Wacker, Mrs. Seegmiller, Mrs. Caldwell, Mrs. Sanderson, Mrs. Rudd, Mrs. Spangler, Mrs. Coordes, and Mrs. Bansemer for all of their effort.

Student Drop Off / End of Day Pick Up

Thank you for your patience before and after school and for following signs and staff directions to ensure the safety of all our students. At the end of each day, all Miners will go home in one of these 3 categories: Flagpole Pickup, Bus, or Drive Through.
  • Flagpole Pickup - students that walk home or have a parent park and collect students.
  • Bus - students that ride a bus
  • Drive Through - guardians that pick up their child from the west parking lot car line.
Drop Off/Pick Up Reminders

  • Safety of your child(ren) is our priority. Please pick up and drop off your child in the designated areas.
  • Be patient, especially as we start the school year and the pick/up drop off routines are new to many families. We will have staff to support you and others outside.
  • Give yourself extra time to safely drop off/pick up.
  • Be patient with other parents/guardians in the drop off/pick up line.
  • No drop off/pick up in the bus lane.
  • Do not park in the drop off/pick up lane. If you need to park, use a designated parking spot and thank you for not parking against the red painted curb in the west end of the parking lot,
  • Drop off may begin no earlier than 8:30 AM because there is no student supervision until then.
  • Pull forward as far as you can. Discuss with your child(ren) the type of car (color, make, model) you will be in at pick up.
  • Use designated cross walks to access the parking lot or sidewalks.
  • Call the office by 2:00pm if there will be a change in the way your child will normally go home so the teacher can be made aware. (Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday) Notify the office of changes by 12:00 PM on Wednesdays.

Thank you for not parking against the red paint on the west end of parent pickup.
