The Silver Trail Guide

So You Don't Get Lost!

October 26, 2026
Silver Trail Elementary School

Hi Miner Families!

What a fantastic and energetic week we’ve had on campus! Between classroom learning, school events, and student growth, our Miners have been working incredibly hard and showing what it means to lead with heart every single day.

We continue to work hard with our students in their WIN (What I Need) groups for both Math and Reading. We are currently deep into making plans for our next block of WIN, beginning November 2nd. By then, teachers will communicate if your child has changed WIN groups. If you do not hear from them, our data hasn't changed enough to move them into a different group and we will continue in a similar group to what they are currently in.

Finally, please see below for important details regarding our upcoming Spirit Week (October 26th–30th)! We can't wait to see our students show off their school spirit with some fun themed dress-up days next week.

Warmly,
Principal Harding

Parent Volunteers?

Families, if you are looking for an opportunity to plug in and help us keep students safe, but can't volunteer during the day, here is an opportunity where we would love to have your volunteer. Please leave your name with the Mel or Kirsten in the front office and the school will train and schedule you for this opportunity.

Picture Retakes | October 27

On Tuesday, October 27, we have picture retakes. We considered this in our dress up week options so that we didn't have wacky hair day or something that students could not participate in if they wanted.

Fit for Fun | Wahooz!

Your child should have brought home a Wahooz Fit for Fun activity log within the last few weeks. This is a fun way for the students of Silver Trail to earn a free 4 hour unlimited pass to Wahooz. Students need to complete 20 hours of active time between October 1st and December 4th. After each 30 minute session your child will color in one of the 40 stars on the activity log. When it is completed they will bring it to school and give it to Mr. Hoehne or their classroom teacher.

Lost yours? Mr. Hoehne has more copies. There is a letter from Wahooz on the back of the log that should answer most questions, but please don't hesitate to let Mr. Hoehne know if there is anything you need from him. Thanks, and have fun completing these logs!

Your Vote Matters!

Early in-person voting starts Monday!
Early in-person voting begins Monday, Oct. 19 and runs through Oct. 30, weekdays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Student Drop Off / End of Day Pick Up

Thank you for your patience before and after school and for following signs and staff directions to ensure the safety of all our students. At the end of each day, all Miners will go home in one of these 3 categories: Flagpole Pickup, Bus, or Drive Through.
  • Flagpole Pickup - students that walk home or have a parent park and collect students.
  • Bus - students that ride a bus
  • Drive Through - guardians that pick up their child from the west parking lot car line.
Drop Off/Pick Up Reminders

  • Safety of your child(ren) is our priority. Please pick up and drop off your child in the designated areas.
  • Be patient, especially as we start the school year and the pick/up drop off routines are new to many families. We will have staff to support you and others outside.
  • Give yourself extra time to safely drop off/pick up.
  • Be patient with other parents/guardians in the drop off/pick up line.
  • No drop off/pick up in the bus lane.
  • Do not park in the drop off/pick up lane. If you need to park, use a designated parking spot and thank you for not parking against the red painted curb in the west end of the parking lot,
  • Drop off may begin no earlier than 8:30 AM because there is no student supervision until then.
  • Pull forward as far as you can. Discuss with your child(ren) the type of car (color, make, model) you will be in at pick up.
  • Use designated cross walks to access the parking lot or sidewalks.
  • Call the office by 2:00pm if there will be a change in the way your child will normally go home so the teacher can be made aware. (Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday) Notify the office of changes by 12:00 PM on Wednesdays.

Thank you for not parking against the red paint on the west end of parent pickup.
